The Computer Technical Centre
is owned by
Glen Holborow, who brings over 30 years of knowledge,
qualifications and vast experience in the field of Information
Technology to business, organisations and personal clients.
Glen obtained his
Craftsman's Certificate in the elite Radio Communications
trade, specializing in remote control technology in the late
1970's. After finishing his trade with Silvertone Electronics,
he worked for a time at Qantas Australia before moving on for
eight years to the elite radio branch of what was then called
Telecom Australia.
During
this time he assisted to implement the microwave installation of
radio equipment Australia wide, including linking the
Tidbinbilla and Parkes radio telescopes together. The most
interesting and educational experience of this time was for him
to be invited to be a member of a very small contingent of
Australian scientists and technology professionals involved in
assembling the equipment and assisting in the downloading of
data from the
GIOTTO mission.
Glen left Telecom in 1988
subsequent to a near fatal car accident which left him
permanently injured. His expertise and experience were soon in
high demand in the newly formed computer field, consulting with
business, government and personal clients. He was once
again lucky to be involved at the infancy of yet more
technological advances.
In 1999 he moved to Queensland
with his family to enjoy the warmer weather and to bring the
latest of information technology to you. Glen is currently
experimenting further in the field of robotics after spending
the past years dedicated to remote control modelling and
computers.
